Who is Ginny Pig?
We are Craig & Bec, a husband and wife team working hard to make our dream of running our very own distillery come true. We distill from our georgeous property located in Tooperang on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia.
Nursing has been our love but our passion is Gin! I (Bec) work as a Palliative care nurse & Craig is a nurse in a fast paced surgical ward. Both areas are pretty taxing on the body and brain & with nearly 50 years’ experience between us, our minds started dreaming of something a little more creative. That’s where our gin came to life!
It all started with my two obsessions, hot cross buns & gin. Determined to recreate the iconic bun flavour in gin form, we taught ourselves all the skills needed to create high quality, artisan gin. In no time our hot cross bun gin had become a favourite among family and friends. Hot x Gin is available from March until sold out.
Another very popular limited edition release is our Christmas Gin. Be sure not to miss this one, it smells and tastes just like Christmas! All the ingredients Grandma puts in her Christmas pudding are infused into this gin. Available from November until sold out.
From small beginnings comes great things – much fun was had perfecting the art of distillation while I attended the "Fundamentals of Spirit Production" course offered at the Uni of Adelaide. Since then we've spent every spare moment between our shifts experimenting, refining, planning and dreaming big.
Recipe development begins in Harriett, our small copper alembic still. Once we have perfected our formula, we re-create it on a larger scale in Charlie, our 120L copper pot still. All done under the watchful eyes of our 2 distillery dogs, Murphy & Pippa
